These women’s elbow tattoo designs not only give a great look
but they’re a great combination of badass and discrete. They look great with a short sleeve but are easily covered when you need to. From slightly under the radar to loud and proud, it’s a growing trend and I’m totally here for it.
I’ve gone through
thousands of elbow tattoos for females to find my favorites and a little bit of something for everyone. Technically, you could put anything on your elbow, but these designs just suit the size, shape and location extra well.

We’re starting this collection with this lovely blackwork moth piece. I love how dark the entire piece which gives it a lot more emphasis. This tattoo design here is simple and elegant. I love how it simply serves as an elbow embellishment, giving focus to this part of the body. We’ve got this really cool spiral elbow tattoo that almost resembles a spider web. This one seems to have a more uniform design. We’ve got a similar embellishment piece. This one focuses more on the side of the arms. I love how it simply adds a bit of shape. Here’s an above-the-elbow tattoo. I find that this still does a great job of emphasizing the elbow and adding a nice feminine decorative touch. We’ve got this gorgeous, intricate floral piece with really excellent shadow work. I love how the shadows are focused in the middle, creating a very subtle gradient. Here’s another floral piece that’s much more simple. This one simply goes around the elbow and creates a distanced circular look. Here’s a really beautiful floral piece. The colors are already mesmerizing and they blend so well together but what really takes my breath away is the beautiful layering work. This is quite a charming and enchanting piece. This one’s a bit more structured as it creates a connected circle around the elbow while achieving that fun and mystical vibe. Here’s an enthralling tribal elbow tattoo. I love the really dark shading done here that puts so much emphasis on the simple design. Here’s a fun little spooky tattoo! We’ve got this little spider web that almost resembles a heart. It’s also got a cute little heart in the middle, which is always a nice touch. The color palette on this tattoo is absolutely beautiful. It’s a mix of really deep warm colors with a few cool, vibrant ones. This is such an amazing piece that reminds me of a mandala. I love how they blacked out the entire elbow, creating a much more defined and pristine center. We’ve got another creative piece over here. This one’s a loved-up spider web. I really love the contrast between the grungey design and the sweet little red hearts. Here’s a full-on mandala tattoo. I love how they expanded this to the sides of the arm, and honestly, the view from the back is just amazing. This is one of those tattoos that perfectly emphasizes and beautifies the elbow. Here’s another mesmerizing tattoo. I absolutely adore how dynamic the entire look is, especially with how well it mixes in with the other tattoo designs with the elbow tattoo melding into the rest of the sleeve. We’ve got another simpler tattoo design. This one’s a mix of three different cute designs. Such an easy way to put an entire tattoo piece together! This is by far my favorite tattoo in this collection. I love everything about it, especially how it looks very cool and futuristic. Abstract pieces that turn out beautiful are legendary. Here’s a pretty cool tattoo design. I love the idea of the dagger going through the elbow and coming out at the other side. Such a witty piece that’s sure to creep your squeamish friends out. Here are some heart flowers. I really like how it’s just a light dainty design, which is a breather from all the complicated ones we’ve seen so far. This one gives off more of a homey look. Here’s another pretty cool tattoo. It’s not your typical cobweb design. Instead, we’ve got some spooky skulls that come with it. This is definitely another top favorite design. I love the concept of these fishes circling each other, with the elbow serving as the space in between. We have this cool wreathe tattoo. If you don’t want your elbows to appear too wide, you can also just put a thinner design together or leave less space in the middle. Here’s a large yet simple daisy piece. I love how fitting this design is, especially since the elbow takes the place of the pistil. Here’s another web design but this one doesn’t go all around. Instead, it almost serves as wings for the elbows. This design is honestly just so enjoyable to look at. Again, I love the blacked-out print that puts so much more emphasis on the entire look. This piece is just breathtaking. The colors are so beautifully blended out, and the entire peacock feather just looks magnificent. We’ve got another spider web tattoo, but this one’s covered inside a vine-y heart. What I adore the most are the vibrant yellow flower pieces that make this look so enthralling. This piece over here is a nice little wreath that was put together using different flower and leaf elements; of course, we’ve got a grungey accent design found on the upper left. Here’s a cool yet simple floral piece. This piece easily looks varied because of the alternate shading on the flowers. Here’s another floral wreath. This one’s one of the simpler pieces, and I really like how it’s just clean and straightforward. This is another one of my favorite designs. I’m honestly in awe of this really unique peace that extends outwards from the center of the elbow. We’ve got here a really cool warped abstract piece. I love how the different contorted layers change how the elbow looks. This tattoo over here is absolutely magical. I love the concept of extended sun rays coming from the center of the elbow. Plus, these birds just give off that divine feeling. Here’s a really simple side elbow tattoo. If you’re too iffy about getting a tattoo in the center, you can still accentuate your elbow using thinner tattoo designs. Here’s a very simple yet sophisticated tattoo. We’ve got an actual orchid shadow design that looks like it’s been painted on. This is another one of my favorite designs. I absolutely love how it’s a long vertical piece that not only beautifies the elbow but the back of the arm as well. Here’s a piece for those who prefer those edgier looks. We’ve got this cool spikey heart that honestly looks pretty bomb. Here’s another lovely floral wreath. What sets this piece apart is the larger, uniform flowers that just look so beautifully organized. Flowers are a classic design, so it’s no surprise to see one in this collection. You don’t always have to leave a space on the elbow itself. I love a pop of color, and this vibrant red is just mesmerizing. I love the circular snake design that just puts this piece together. Here’s a majestic wave tattoo. I love how it’s a long, vertical piece that doesn’t necessarily put too much focus on the elbows. It’s still such a beautiful peeking placement, though. Here’s another grunge look. This is honestly quite amazing. We’ve got a screen crack design that is honestly just so unique. This is a design I’ve never seen tatted before. Here’s another simple floral piece. We’ve just got some equally spaced-out flowers. This is perfect for those who don’t want too heavy a look. I love how this design has a nice spacing in the middle, which gives a nice breather to the look. It also makes the entire design look better composed. Here’s a cute little fruit piece for a refreshing change. This one still wraps around the elbow, but not in your typical circular manner. Here’s a softer design. We’ve got this incredible dragon tattoo going around the elbow. The shading is a lot softer, which makes it a daintier look. This is one of the more unique designs. We’ve got this sliced tree branch-like design. I absolutely love the really unique, intricate textures. We’re ending this collection with this flowy piece. I love how it extends on the side of the arm, making it seem a lot more dynamic. Where Should You Get a Female Elbow Tattoo? Foot Wrist Bicep Inner arm
